Dr Helen Roberts FRCP(UK) is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Southampton, with a special clinical interest in Parkinson’s disease. Her research interests include the assessment of frailty, nutrition and muscle mass in older people, as well as the evaluation of falls and gait in Parkinson’s disease. She is the Director of the South Coast Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network and a member of the National Institute of Health Research Ageing Speciality Group. She leads the Ageing and Dementia Theme of the recently awarded National Institute of Health Research Wessex Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care. Helen works closely with colleagues in Academic Geriatric Medicine, the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit and the Biomedical Research Centre, and coordinates teaching in medicine for 3rd year medical students at the University of Southampton.
