Peter Smith

Prof. Peter JS Smith is Director of the Institute for Life Sciences at the University of Southampton.  He is a cell biologist/biophysicist and works to understand how cellular processes impact on the normal and diseased state. He is particularly interested in cell metabolism and developing new tools to measure what cells are doing. As Director of the Institute he interacts with a broad range of staff and students developing strategies to encourage interdisciplinary studies in areas of global uncertainty.
